Asthma: Asthma
is a disease
that affects the breathing passages of the lungs (bronchioles). Asthma is caused by chronic (ongoing, long-term) inflammation
of these passages. This makes the breathing passages, or airways, of the person with asthma highly sensitive to various "triggers."
